About 7500 Miles
Founded in 2015, 7500 Miles is a curatorial platform dedicated to connecting Iranian contemporary artists—especially those based in Iran—with audiences across the globe.
The name 7500 Miles reflects the geographical and cultural distance between Tehran, Mahsa’s hometown, and California, where the project was born. But more than a number, it symbolizes the space between voices often silenced and those ready to listen. Through exhibitions, interviews, and collaborative projects, 7500 Miles bridges this gap—one story, one piece of art at a time.
Mahsa’s curatorial practice centers on amplifying underrepresented voices, especially women artists, and challenging Western stereotypes of Iran through thoughtful, multidisciplinary exhibitions. Her work is rooted in the belief that art has the power to foster empathy, reshape narratives, and spark meaningful cross-cultural dialogue.
7500 Miles is not tied to a single project or partnership. Each exhibition brings new perspectives, collaborators, and possibilities. Our aim is to create space for Iranian artists to be seen, engaged with, and remembered—not through politics, but through art.
About Mahsa
Mahsa Soroudi is an independent curator and visual storyteller based in California. With a background in visual communication and years of experience as an art director and designer, she brings a keen eye for narrative, aesthetics, and cultural nuance to her curatorial work.
Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, Mahsa relocated to the United States in 2011. Her curatorial practice is deeply informed by her own experience of displacement and the desire to bridge cultural distances through meaningful artistic exchange. She is the founder of 7500 Miles, a platform that connects Iranian contemporary artists with global audiences through exhibitions, interviews, and collaborative projects.
Mahsa’s work centers on themes of memory, identity, and visibility, creating space for artists whose voices often remain unheard.
