Nazli Tahvili’s work exhibited here is from "The Circus" series, in silk screen, where its bright, flat colors remind us of the vivid aesthetics of circus performers. These performers belong to a fantasy world created by Tahvili’s imagination, and are often rejected by society  due to their physical appearances and unusual skills—wearing masks and colorful outfits, which contrasts with the contradictory of the performers’ innermost selves.

The animals and the performers, like Sisyphus, live a meaningless, routine life. The circus is a miniature version of our interaction with the world, an attempt to create a cocoon from where we repress our inner Sisyphus and let us enjoy our own life—even for a moment.
